Basic information
Built in the south-east of Nîmes in South France, Stade des Costières i s the stadium of the local football team Nimes Olympique able to hold bit less than 20000 people. The region of Gard and the particular area where the Stadium is located experience flood events almost every year, despite the prevention and mitigation measures taken by the Local and Regional Authorities.
The envisaged ESS scenario refers to a flood event following heavy rainfalls which threatens to inundate the area of the stadium which is full due to an international football match in progress.
Players: The Fire authorities of Gard department (CODIS 30), the Prefecture of Gard, the national and local Police (CORG), the Gard Prefecture, the French Weather Service (Meteo France), and the Department for hydrological risk management of the City of Nîmes (ESPADA) will interact operationally using the ESS system during this test.
