Public Security and Counter-Terrorism Conference in London Print E-mail

The Public Security and Counter Terrorism conference and exhibition, will be taking place on the 28th September at the Barbican Conference Centre, Silk Street, London.

The new counter-terrorism strategy (CONTEST) reflects the changing terrorist threats we now face. New government policies incorporate concerns about extremism and high-profile national events that make security issues of paramount importance to public protection and policy. Local Authorities and Businesses have a responsibility to secure public buildings, manage risk and provide safe transport. Given the current threat level, delivering secure and safe public events is a sizeable challenge and requires thorough security planning, technology and community engagement.

Addressing security risks requires an integrated approach to build capabilities, develop international frameworks and improve data management. The Conference shall provide an opportunity to listen to policy leaders, to debate the key issues, and to understand how best to protect public places and safeguard the security of the nation. Key areas being discussed include; Research, Technology & Innovation, Risk Management and Cyber Security, Data Management & Protection.
